Yalumba Y Series Viognier
Yalumba is Australia’s most historic family-owned winery. Y Series Viognier showcases all the unique characters of Viognier, yet it’s not overpowering in its flavor profile. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks utilising the naturally occurring indigenous vineyard yeasts. The indigenous yeasts create layers of flavor, complexity and richness. After fermentation the wine remains on lees for three months, adding creaminess and palate richness. Aromas of orange blossom with fresh ginger, hints of honeysuckle and white flowers. Fresh apricot, white tea, dried figs and fennel lead to a creamy mid-palate with a silky, textural finish. The wild fermentation and lees aging gives the wine an extra level of complexity on the palate.
