Baglio di Grisi Grillo
The name “Grìsi” harks back to the Greek word Krysos, meaning gold, a nod to the area’s legendary fertility and the shimmering quality of its wines. Founded by visionary agronomist Dr. Mario Di Lorenzo, the estate has been family-run for over a century. Today, Baglio di Grìsi is still a family affair, rooted in tradition but always looking forward. The estate’s location, midway between Palermo and Trapani, benefits from cool sea breezes, dramatic diurnal temperature shifts, and pristine natural surroundings. While the wines may be quietly under the radar, they’re anything but shy on the palate. The bouquet conveys hints of citrus fruits, crusty bread and fleshy yellow fruit such as apricots. The taste is full-bodied and well-structured, with a well-balanced acidity and a mineral finish.
