Domaine Carrel & Senger Jongieux Mondeuse

Located in the heart of the Savoie, equidistant from Lyon and Geneva and due north from Grenoble. Medium Bodied, Dry, Medium-High Acidity, Strawberry, Raspberry, Black Pepper. Their Mondeuse from the sun-soaked cru of Jongieux is fermended from partially destemmed clusters and ages for 8-10 moths in concrete vats before bottling. The wine made from the Jongieux Mondeuse grape variety has a red and purple color with subtle aromas of red fruits such as strawberries, blackcurrants and raspberries, accompanied by spicy notes. Pair zesty, peppery reds with well-seasoned meats and pungent cheeses. A great match with marinated flank steak, roasted game hens or a wheel of Tomme and some crusty bread.
