Cantina Santa Maria La Palma Le Bombarde Cannonau

The rolling hills and endless plains facing out to sea are home to the vineyards of the Santa Maria La Palma winery in Sardinia. Le Bombarde wine takes its name from the beach of the same name where the vineyards of the red grapes Cannonau di Sardegna and Monica di Sardegna are still located. The cannons, depicted on the label, are a symbol of the defense and pride of Sardinia’s coastal territory, which over the centuries suffered invasions from various peoples, including the Aragonese and Spanish. This wine is 100% Cannonau (Grenache if we're in France). On the nose it's showing hints of cherry and raspberry. The palate is rounder and more velvety than it's Carignano bretheren.
