Montefili Chianti Anfiteatro Toscana Rosso 2019

This single Vineyard Sangiovese is so much more than a ‘simple’ Chianti Classico, it represents the heart and soul of Montefili and is our most iconic wine. A careful selection of grapes from our first and oldest vineyard, planted in 1975 at the winery’s foundation. 

It takes its name from the way the vines are laid out at Montefili, like an amphitheatre. The altitude, the galestro and quartz soil and the 28-month ageing in barrels and casks result in a wine that is always voluminous, beautifully balanced, velvety and elegant with an astonishing freshness and a long meditative finish.
