Francis Mahoney was a pioneering winemaker and grower in the Carneros region of California. He saw, and realized, the potential for great Burgundy varietals long before Carneros became the heralded AVA it is today. That hard work and vision lead to several successful ventures that today includes Mahoney Vineyards and Fleur de California. After more than forty years in the business, Francis is not one to rest on his laurels and past accomplishments. Seeing the evolution of today’s wine market and the rise of the millennial generation of wine drinkers, Francis has created a new brand, Carneros Ranch! The premise behind the Carneros Ranch label is to create wines that have a more contemporary, fruit driven character while still capturing the fresh, bright and linear qualities of Carneros.
