Day Wines Infinite Air Castles

$31.00

In 2006 Brianne Day sold everything she owned and began traveling through wine regions all over the world. Over the following eight years she visited around 80 different regions, working at wineries in Burgundy, Argentina, Australia, and New Zealand. During this time, she re-established her home base in Oregon and worked at a number of wineries including The Eyrie Vineyards and Brooks. Gamay 58%, Dolcetto 42% from two organically farmed sites in Yamhill-Carlton and Chehalem Mountains AVA. The fruit was partially destemmed (40% whole cluster) and fermented with native yeasts over a three week period. The wine was matured for eleven months in a mix of neutral 500L French puncheons and 228L French oak barrels.

On the nose, expect a bouquet of delicate rose petals and juicy bursts of blueberry , mingling with the enticing aromas of grilled plums, cracked pepper, dark berries, and the evocative scent of petrichor after a summer rain. Obsidian-like minerality and a hint of forest floor round out the aromatic profile. On the palate, these notes come alive with bright, juicy acidity, a plush, velvety texture in the mid-palate, and a firm, lasting structure.
