Klara Rosé

Klara is the newest project from the Dillon family, the owners of Château Haut-Brion in Bordeaux, and it marks their first venture south. Rather than farming a single estate, the team sources organic Grenache and Syrah from growers scattered across the Mediterranean arc, from the Gard through the Camargue and into Provence, blending for a wine built for immediate, easy drinking. The color is barely there, pale salmon with crystalline brightness, and the nose opens with raspberry, redcurrant, and grapefruit before turning spicier, with a savory, almost peppery undertone. It shows how a great Bordeaux house thinks about rosé when given the freedom of Vin de France.
