Pico Maccario Lavignone Rosé

Barbera is the everyday grape of Piedmont and the honest one. High acid, low tannin, deep color, no pretension. It was the wine growers drank while they waited years for their Nebbiolo to come around.  Pico Maccario is a vibrant family-owned estate with 112 hectares of serious vineyard muscle and a bold, modern twist.  Lavignone Rosato is Barbera made pink, raised entirely in stainless steel. It pours pale salmon with a faint orange cast and offers wild strawberry, watermelon rind, cranberry, and a stony, cut-grass freshness. The acidity is bright without being sharp, and the texture is rounder than the color leads you to expect.
